Beer and Babies

I haven't written in a while, and I'm getting some serious pressure to update this thing...so here goes it!

I bought a book last weekend called "Baby Proof." In short, it's about this girl who doesn't want kids....ever! She meets a man who says he doesn't want kids either, they get married...and WOAH...he suddenly wants children. It's cute...finished it last night. It's a totally mindless "end of summer" type read. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Speaking of babies, I learn that both my best friend Evie, and my cousin Suzanne are preggo. For Suz, this will be her third (she has two boys already). She is really hoping for a girl. I bought her a pink candle today in hopes that when she burns it, girlie fumes will fill her house...and they will make her have a girl.

For Evie, it will be her second. She hasn't really expressed the desire for one sex over another...but I bet she would want a boy this go 'round. I know she's the "I just want a healthy baby" type mom more than obsessing over genders, names, etc. My other cousin Connie just had a girl. Last I heard, she took "her" home from the hospital...with no name! EEEK! I can't imagine not having a name lined up. I had Kipper's name picked out 5 years before he was born.

Not much going on this week....other than Mike hitting a homerun last night in his softball game. It was his first homerun, and he was beaming the entire evening. I like to see him do well...the rest of the team did too! Go Brew Crew!

I am in the beginning stages of planning my 30th Luau Party at Mike's. Mike's not a "planner" guy, so I'll be doing most of the legwork. It doesn't bother me...being that I am a planner-type, and a control freak, so I would eventually end up taking over the whole thing anyway. Mike's promised to get his house "ready," which means all flooring in/all painting finished/all bathroom functional/all holes in sheetrock repaired/kegerator repaired. Lots of work to get this house in tip top shape. If it's not ready, we're all meeting at McDonalds for nuggets and ice cream. GO RONALD!

I'm sad that you aren't having a "Fatty after Thanksgiving" theme.
